MacFarlands Events, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, has opened a new facility at 461 Higney Ave. in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, to serve the Atlantic Canadian event community. Situated on a 5.8-acre lot, the 21,000-sq.-ft. facility features a showroom, offices and warehouse area.

MacFarlands Events has serviced Atlantic Canada’s event industry for more than six decades with an assortment of party, furniture and tent rentals, and event design and execution professionals.

“The motivation driving this project was to invest in a modern facility specifically designed for future growth,” said Ryan MacDonald, general manager, MacFarlands Events. “Having been located on Kempt Road for 30 years, this upgrade builds on MacFarlands’ rich legacy as we continue to invest in the Atlantic events industry and elevate the customer and employee experience. We’re proud of the eco-conscious practices and accessibility that this new location provides.”

The new facility includes a showroom oriented around natural light, adjacent office space designed to maximize customer interactions, and what the company described as a cutting-edge warehouse built explicitly for the event rental business. MacFarlands said that as reflection of its commitment to the environment, the custom facility features LED lighting, modern HVAC systems and a switch from oil to natural gas.

“We have been a part of the Halifax community for over 60 years,” MacDonald said. “Throughout that time, we’ve been honoured to support the local community, and we will continue to invest in our local community through community groups such as Autism Nova Scotia, Ovarian Cancer Society, Phoenix Youth, the Tourism, Culinary, and Events Management programs at Nova Scotia Community College and many more.”

In 2019 MacFarlands Events partnered with Chair-man Mills Corp., Toronto.

“We’re thrilled to open our new facility in Halifax,” said Allison Freeman, CEO, Chair-man Mills Corp. “This beautiful new space will enable continued investment in our people, product and technology and will further enhance our ability to deliver unparalleled service to loyal and new clients in Halifax and Atlantic Canada.”
